The DESMI DBD13-4 ultralight high capacity skimmer system is a lightweight skimmer for easy one-person handling and is suitable for use in a wide range of environments including recovering oil in ports, harbours, rivers, and coastal areas.
Designed to utilise interchangeable brush and disc recovery banks, the skimmer is capable of recovering a wide range of oils.
As a system, the DESMI DBD13-4 lightweight skimmer system includes a powerful diesel hydraulic power pack equipped with wheels for easy transport, transfer pump and the necessary hoses and connectors. Certified by Bureau Veritas, the system can recover oil at a rate of up to 24 m³ per hour. The integrated transfer pump has a capacity of 30 m³/h.
Construction, capability and operation:
The DESMI DBD13-4 skimmer head is made of reinforced fiberglass, which makes it naturally resistant to corrosion. The skimmer is able to resist a load of 100 kg and is equipped with four lifting points to enable safe lifting. Depending on the oil type, viscosity, slick thickness, and temperature, the skimmer can recover up to 24 m³ per hour, with very low water content of between 2-5%. The power pack is within a stainless steel frame for strength, durability and corrosion resistance. At a comfortable operation height is a panel for the hydraulic manoeuvring – hand/electric starting system. The power pack can be used independently as a hydraulic power source or a powerful transfer pump.
