JSP PowerCap® Infinity® Positive Air Pressure Respirator

The PowerCap® Infinity® is a fully integrated PAPR-P2 powered air respirator offering 4 of the highest levels of protection in one head mounted unit. It gives the wearer complete above the neck 4 in 1 protection. PowerCap® Infinity®, the perfect choice for many industries where dust poses a great danger to health. Severe health affects of prolonged dust inhalation include lung cancer, silicosis, kidney disease and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease as outlined by the Cancer Council Australia. Please note that JEA Technologies is in no way associated or related to the Cancer Council Australia. The PowerCap® Infinity® protects the wearer against dust inhalation and can help prevent conditions such as silicosis.

1. Head Protection

Built around an EVO®5 Olympus® industrial safety helmet combing a super strong ABS shell for superior all day protection with the comfort of the Evolution 3D-Adjustment harness system.

Conforming to: EN397, ANSI/ISEA Z89.1 ( American standard for head protection, Type 1) and AS/NZS 1801 for Occupational Protective Helmets

2. High Efficiency Filters

High capacity HEPA filters coupled with aerodynamically optimised pre-filter covers ensure the PowerCap® Infinity® delivers 160 litres per minute of clean air to the user with maximum battery efficiency. Filters can be changed easily with the quick-change bayonet system.

PowerCap® Infinity® provides users with clean air to the level of EN12941:1998 + A2:2008 TH3P – The highest possible rating in Europe with an Assigned Protection Factor of 40 and Nominal Protection Factor NPF of 500.  ( source EN529)

PowerCap® Infinity® provides users with clear air to the level of AS/NZS 1716:2012 PAPR-P2 with loose fitting head top, with a Minimum Required Protection Factor (MRPF) up to 50.

3. Panoramic Impact Visor

The optical class 1 visor offers impact protection against small objects at speeds of up to 434 Kmph (270 Mph). This test was conducted using a 6mm steel ball bearing. The visor has a replaceable peel-off visor protector to prolong its life.

4. Ear Defenders

Developed to seamlessly integrate with Sonis® helmet mounted ear defenders. Designed by the JSP R&D team working with a leading UK acoustic engineering research facility, the Sonis® helmet mounted range peaks at an unbeaten level of 36 SNR.

Conforms to EN353-3, AS/NZS 1270 with Class5 performance for all 3 models. SLC(80) rating from 27dB and up to 34dB

Please note that Sonis® ear defenders are not included with the PowerCap® Infinity®.

Perfect Fit to Combat Dust – Prevent Silicosis

Dust in the workplace is a significant issue. HSE figures (2017) show that 18,000 new cases of work related respiratory disease were diagnosed. A significant proportion of these were a result of exposure to silica dust. In October 2018 the ABC published findings (1, 2) of rising silicosis cases in Australia – particularly affecting stonemasons working on kitchen bench tops without adequate respiratory protection. A Queensland based senior occupational physician expected another 300 cases before Christmas 2018 – just over a 2 month period. A video of the report is available for viewing below.

PowerCap® Infinity® being a loose fitting PAPR, it removes the need for face fit testing by ensuring that a high volume of clean air is delivered to the breathing zone giving a superior level of protection.

JSP tested the effect of facial hair on the mask seal and found that facial hair does not impede the effectiveness of the PowerCap® Infinity®.

Note the PowerCap® Infinity® is suitable for Trimmed Beard, however a “Ned Kelly” or “ZZ Top” type of Beard is not acceptable!

The PowerCap® Infinity® also has real time diagnostics monitoring the system as well as the wearer twice per second. This gives accurate and dynamic feedback to the user. Periods of high respiratory demand are monitored and catered for by constantly maintaining a positive pressure inside the respirator. Feedback is given on battery and filter condition via the heads up display (HUD) and audio notifications.

Easy maintenance of the PowerCap® Infinity® is a key design feature, with just about every part able to be swapped out. User replaceable filters, filter covers, visor, peel-off visor film, helmet, harness strap, turbo drive unit and carrier, battery pack and visor seal are all examples of user replaceable parts.
