An inexpensive, resposable air mattress that reduces secondary injury, including pressure sores, from prolonged immobilisation on a backboard. Inflates in seconds filling the voids between patient and backboard providing patient comfort. Allows for full function of the backboard and patient restraint systems. 100% latex free and X-ray transparent.
It provides immobilisation of suspected vertebra, pelvis or limb trauma. Extracting air forces the mattress to become hard and mould around the patient’s body contours allowing full body immobilisation without pressure points. Increases comfort and reduces the risk of additional trauma.
