The RED Back Up Device is a simple, high performance back up device suitable for use by Rope Access technicians. Tested with 240kg, it is suitable for back up rescue loads.
The cam’s positive locking spring means the device is self-parking rather than self-tailing. The RED uses rotational braking so the more it rotates the more friction is built up, providing an automatic brake.
Supplied with either a fixed tow cord ‘Popper’ which will break away in a panic fall or fixed tow cord.
